Weak parking brake! Help!

New 4runner owner here. Worried about my parking brakes, it seems to be not working right. my car moves slightly when parked on an incline.
any quick ideas what to check first before I run to the dealership? thanks

I'd say run to the dealership and get this checked. it could be that the parts were not attached properly

No need to head over to the dealership already, maybe first do the following I'll list:
- see if you're pressing the parking brake fully
- or check whether the parking brake cables are loose or stretched, since when did you have your 4runner and was it brand new when you bought it?
- try checking if there is debris in the mechanism

Then if all else checks out you can head over to the dealer.
