crawl control

my 4runer doesn't have crawl control and i think Toyota implemented it with the 5th gen so if someone here had both gens is it worth the upgrade? i haven't noticed a situation where i need it but i wouldn't say i dont want it

If you haven't run into a situation where you needed it, you're probably not missing much to be honest. crawl control is nice for super technical terrain, but plenty of people get by just fine without it. If you're already thinking of upgrading for other reasons, it's a cool feature to have, but personally I wouldn't trade up just for that alone.

I assume you encounter different terrains in your adventures, I say its worth the upgrade since its going to be of use often. I dont do much off road driving but I have it on my 4Runner and its really helpful and convenient when having to go off road. The only issue I see is that its another thing to be maintained and so thats some added cost.

I agree with @Dr.forerunner. If you haven't felt limited by your current ride, the upgrade might not be essential. But then, it would really depend on your off-roading style and terrains you visit.

Honestly, if you haven't found a need for it so far, you're likely okay without it. Crawl Control is really useful in certain off-road situations,like steep hills, loose rocks, and deep sand,but it's not something everyone absolutely has to have. If you're considering an upgrade for other reasons,it's a nice extra feature to have. But if not,I'd recommend just sticking with what's alraedy working for you.
