I have a 2009 4runner which I acquired recently and noticed that there's a bumper gap on the front. how do you deal with this? can I DIY the fix for this?

i'm assuming this is secondhand because of the year model? did you get to ask the previous owner about the gap?

if it's a minor misalignment, simply pushing the bumper back into place should solve it. you should also inspect the area first for any obvious damage in the clips or brackets, or loose fasteners. broken components would need replacement.

but if it's significant and you suspect some structural damage, skip the diy and consult a professional body shop!!

First of all, great choice, 4th gen 4runners are pretty solid. About the bumper gap, maybe the clips are missing or broken. You can get bumper clip kit on amazon for around 10-20 bucks and fix it easily.
