yeah, I'm an idiot because I didn't want to spend 2 minuted more on something I've been doing for years. Long story short I damaged the plastic housing for the oil filter so I'm looking for a replacement. oem or something cheaper, what should I get?

Agree with @zolydyck here, try partsource. Or anywhere online long as its got good reputation.

It happens to the best of us! I'd recommend getting the OEM metal housing since it's much sturdier and it fits perfectly with the 4Runner. But if you're looking to save some cash, the Dorman aftermarket option is a solid choice as well. Either way, don't forget to transfer your old tube and spring

OEM should be your priority if you got the budget anyway since you won't have any headaches of thinking about compatibility if so.
