Engine light icon lights up

My 2020 4Runner has its engine light icon lighting up that then disappears on its own. The first time it happened, I was just pulling into my driveway after a short grocery run. they checked it but didn't find anything. After a week or two, it happened again, so we're back into the dealership again. They have the car for about 2 days now but still cannot replicate the issue.

anyone else experienced this? I don't know what to do anymore. I have long trip coming up and I don't want this to happen again while I'm in the middle of the highway. Thanks!

Isn't it that all 4Runners get to the point where this CEL problem will appear?!? Mine is a secondhand 2014 and I didn't see this during my test drive but now it's persisting. So off, Anyway, if there's no stored code, there's not gonna be any clear answer. Let them check for pending codes or use a better scanner than what they have for sure it's gonna work.

Have they found any codes? I would suggest you invest in OBD, it's not expensive but it can be very helpful.

since the dealership can't replicate it, maybe try to note down exactly when it happens to give them more clues. Sometimes those random glitches can be a pain to diagnose!

Yeah okay mine did something similar last year. Light would pop on, then vanish before I could even pull a code. As it turned out, it was as simple as a loose gas cap causing an evap code.
