Don't worry, I'm not the kind of people that get a massive off road vehicle and drive it around town. If I decide to get the 4Runner, it's going to see some adventures, but I'm interested in something else. I spend a lot of time on the highway, so how is it in terms of comfort? I'm looking at a 2022 4Runner with the off road trim, so would it be a nightmare on the highway or not?

I think the 2022 4Runner with the off-road trim does come with some trade-offs on the highway. Its body-on-frame construction is excellent for off-roading but it will be somewhat a bouncier and stiffer ride compared to more car-like crossover SUVs. The 4.0L V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission are reliable but can feel a bit sluggish, and it might hunt for gears more on inclines, especially with cruise control. That being said, many owners find it perfectly acceptable for long distances, appreciating its commanding view and overall solid feel. I'd say it's not a luxury highway cruiser, but it's far from a nightmare, especially if you prioritize its ruggedness and off-road prowess!

They're great daily drivers, comfy seats, smooth ride and not too harsh. I've taken mine on multiple 5k+ mile trips through the Sierras and Rockies without any issues. They tow well and, with proper maintenance, can last a very long time. Good luck!
