up until a few months ago the carplay was working as intended i get in connect the phone and bam everything is working as it should. recently the feature hasn been so nice to me and it doesn't connect automatically it just charges and its driving me nuts. could this be an update or is it something else?

yeah u might be right. it could be that ur phone's OS is not updated. or it can be just bad cables.. you can try to get one from a store, not sure if u have apple or an android but it might work after changing cables!

Mine did that too after a phone update. Try a new cable and re-pair the car in settings usually fixes it.
